Computer & Technology Courses
Excel-Basic to Intermediate
This class covers everything from beginning to intermediate Excel.
Excel-Advanced
This advanced class focuses on tables, pivot tables, macros, formulas, and functions
to perform calculations on cell data. Formulas, when designed well, can make a spreadsheet
most useful and efficient. Create 3-D Charts and use functions and features such as
VLOOK, COUNT, IF, DATE, and NOW.
Fundamentals of Fiber Optics
This self-paced online course provides a practical, real-world perspective on the
fundamentals of fiber optics technology and optical data communications. Students
will learn about components of fiber-optic links such as transmitters, optical fiber,
and receivers. Students will also learn about total internal reflection, types of
optical fibers, connectors and splices, and various types of measurements (visual
fault locators, optical loss test set, and optical time-domain reflectometry).

Geometrical and Physical Optics
This self-paced online course introduces students to the principles of geometrical
and physical optics applied in the fields of electronics, instrumentation, telecommunications,
and biomedical equipment. Students will learn how to manipulate light using mirrors
and lenses. They will also investigate interference through single and double slits,
pinholes, and diffraction gratings. Finally, students will be introduced to the basics
of laser construction and principles of laser operation.

Introduction to Photonics
This self-paced online course covers the fundamental principles of light, the behavior
of light in different environments, light generation, and light manipulation. Students
will learn about basic optical tools and components used in photonics labs. They will
also learn to the most current laser safety standards and requirements.
Laser Systems and Applications
This self-paced online course introduces advanced concepts of laser construction and
operation. Students will investigate the principles and operation of gas lasers (HeNe),
ion lasers, semiconductor lasers, fiber-optic lasers, and Nd:YAG lasers. They will
also learn advanced techniques such as Q-switching, mode-locking, wave division multiplexing,
etc.

FLUSAR Rope Rescue Operations
This advanced fire 40-hour course introduces the rescue professional to the skills
and equipment necessary to safely and efficiently resolve situations that require
the use of rope and related equipment. This course meets or exceeds the general requirements
for NFPA 1670 Standard on Operations and Training for Technical Rescue Incidents,
Awareness and Operations Level for Rope Rescue. You must be a certified firefighter
to take this course. Offered in partnership with the National Rescue Consultants.
FLUSAR Rope Rescue Technician
This advanced fire 40-hour course is designed to train rescuers in high-angle rescue
recovery. This course meets and exceeds NFPA 1006 Chapters 5 & 6.2. The student will
be trained in troubleshooting areas, rope systems, anchor systems, raise/lower techniques,
stoke basket operations, high line operations, pick-off techniques, knot passing,
and rope theory. Emphasis will be placed on safety, raising, lowing patient packaging,
belay operations, as well as moving a victim in high-angle environments. Offered in
partnership with the National Rescue Consultants.
Pre-requisite: FLUSAR Rope Rescue Operations
FLUSAR Trench Rescue Ops & Tech
This advanced fire 40-hour course meets or exceeds the general requirements of NFPA
1670 "Standard on Operations and Training for Technical Rescue Incidents," Trench
Rescue, Awareness, Operations, and Technician Level. Regulations and standards outlined
in OSHA 1926, and NFPA 1006, "Standard for Rescue Technician Professional Qualifications,"
Trench Rescue will be explained and applies. This program will address: Scene Management
and implementation of trench rescue emergency action plan; collapse indicator recognition
and scene safety surveys; atmospheric testing & monitoring, ventilation, and de-watering
operations; shoring system construction and installation, including lumber screw-jacks,
and pneumatic systems; construction of load stabilization systems; intersecting trench
rescue operations; patient access, packaging, and extrication techniques. Offered
in partnership with the National Rescue Consultants.

Aerial Operations ATPC 703
This advanced fire course includes classroom lecture and plenty of practical exercises
are conducted in the principles of hazards which may be present during aerial operations.
This course will include exercises in the principles, safe use, and tactical placement
of aerial apparatus. Offered in partnership with the National Rescue Consultants.
Fire Protection Hydraulics & Water Supply
This advanced fire course provides a foundation of theoretical knowledge in order
to understand the principles of the use of water in fire protection and to apply hydraulic
principles to analyze and to solve water supply problems. In addition, the curriculum
covers pump theory, pump rating, and pressure and vacuum gauges. You must be a certified
firefighter to take this course. Offered in partnership with the National Rescue Consultants.
Apparatus Operations
This advanced fire course covers the laws, rules, and driving techniques for emergency
vehicles. There will be a practical portion of this course that includes fire ground
evolutions using pre-connected lines, tandems pumping, drafting, relays, and master
streams. Students must bring gloves and proper attire for water pumping exercise.
After successful completion of this course and FFP 1301, students will be eligible
to take the State Pump Operator certification exam through the Florida State Fire
College. You must be a certified firefighter to take this course. Offered in partnership
with the National Rescue Consultants.

Advanced Rescue & Survival School
This advanced fire course is a three-day program designed for firefighters and company
officers who desire a high paced, data-driven, and realistic training program focused
on self-rescue, firefighter survival, aggressive and proactive RIT/RIC operations,
maintaining situational awareness, and understanding the psychology and physiology
of a firefighter mayday. You must be a certified firefighter to take this course.
Offered in partnership with the National Rescue Consultants.
Hybrid Hazmat 160
This class details the planning, response, and mitigation of hazardous materials.
This class will be customized to pay special attention to hazardous materials currently
being manufactured and transported in your local communities. Students will be educated
on equipment, chemicals, processes, and hazards associated with responding to hazmat
incidents. The information contained in the lecture, presentation, and hands-on practical
is gained from first-hands, real-time knowledge encountered during the response to
hazmat incidents. This hybrid course offers all of the same specifics as the standard
160 Hour Hazmat Technician Course while dividing the class into two parts: online
and hands-on. You will find the online, lecture portion, a better fit for those with
more demanding schedules. This convenience demands self-reliance for the number of
tasks at hand to be completed at specified deadlines. This class meets all of the
requirements to sit for the state of Florida's Hazardous Materials Technician exam.
Pre-requisite: Operations Level Hazmat
Live Fire Training Instructor
This course is designed to deliver a comprehensive live-fire training program, within
a safe and controlled environment, in accordance with NFPA 1402, NFPA 1403, and NFPA
1500. Both lecture and practical will be used allowing participants to apply knowledge
of the above standards to training activities.

Health Science Courses
Through our non-credit health science courses, students will be able to gain industry certifications and, in some cases, CEUs.
American Heart Association Basic Life Support CPR (AHA BLS-CPR)
P站视频 (P站视频) is an authorized training center for the AHA. We
offer the AHA鈥檚 BLS (CPR and AED) Program. This course can be used for an initial
certification or re-certification.
Who Should Take The Course
Healthcare professionals, first responders, and other personnel who need to know how
to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills in a wide variety
of in-facility and pre-hospital settings.
Course Covers:
- New science and education from the 2020 AHA Guidelines Update for CPR and ECC
- The components of high-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants
- The AHA Chain of Survival for pre-hospital and in-facility providers
- Important early use of an AED
- Effective ventilations using a barrier device
- Importance of teams in multi-rescuer resuscitation and performance as an effect team member during multi-rescuer CPR
- Relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (chocking) for adults and infants
The course fee includes the required pocket mask and your certification eCard upon successful completion of the course. Legal Courses
P站视频's School of Continuing Education has partnered with the 19th Circuit Court Administration and The Florida Association of Professional Process Servers (FAPPS) to provide required training for Process Servers in Indian River, St. Lucie, Martin & Okeechobee Counties.
Circuit Court of the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit, Administrative Order 2017-03
Process Server Certification
This intense two and a half day, 20-hour course, is not a certification; it is the
educational requirement for the 19th Judicial Circuit and must be completed prior
to making an application to the circuit to be a process server in the four-county
region.
Process Server Renewal 4-hour
This renewal training covers any new legislation and case law(s) as it pertains to
the service of process. This 4-hour training is now a yearly requirement to renew your Process Server License.
Guardianship 4-hour (Natural Parents)
This is a required course for appointed non-professional guardians and those who seek
to serve as a guardian. Each person appointed by the court to be a guardian must complete
the required hours of instruction and education within four months of appointment.
This State mandated course will cover the following topics to fulfill the training
requirements for Guardianship Education required by the State of Florida F.S. 744.3145
and has been approved by the Circuit Court of the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit, Administrative
Order 2011-0.
Guardianship 8-hour (Non-Natural Parents)
This is a required course for appointed non-professional guardians and those who seek
to serve as a guardian. Each person appointed by the court to be a guardian must complete
the required hours of instruction and education within four months of appointment.
This State mandated course will cover the following topics to fulfill the training
requirements for Guardianship Education required by the State of Florida F.S. 744.3145
and has been approved by the Circuit Court of the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit, Administrative
Order 2011-0.
Public Safety Courses
Through these courses, first responders can gain and improve upon their skills, as well as obtain and maintain specific industry certifications.
Private Security Guard 鈥 Class D
The Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Division of Licensing, licenses
and regulates the private security industry in accordance with Chapter 493, Florida
Statutes. The private security industry is regulated to ensure the interests of the
public are adequately served and protected.
Licensing Process
- You must be at least 18 years of age.
- You must be a citizen or legal resident alien of the United States or have been granted authority to work in this country by the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Citizenship, and Immigration Services (USCIS)
The Department will deny your application, if you:
- Have been convicted of a felony in any state or of a crime against the United States, which is designated as a felony, or convicted of an offense in any other state, territory, or country punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding 1 year, unless and until Civil Rights have been restored and a period of 10 years have passed since final release from supervision [s.493.6118 (4), F.S.].
- Are currently serving a suspended sentence on a felony charge or on probation for a delay charge [s.493.6118(4), F. S.].
The Department may deny your application, if you:
- Have a history of being arrested for crimes of violence and/or found guilty of (or had adjudication withheld for) directly related crimes. This includes, but is not limited to: Trespassing, Breaking and Entering, Burglary, Robbery, Forgery, Criminal Mischief or Theft, Assault, Battery, Stalking, Aggravated Battery, Aggravated Assault, Sexual Battery, Kidnapping, Armed Robbery, Murder, Aggravated Stalking, Resisting an Officer with Violence [Section 493.6118(1)(c), Section 493.6118(1)(j), Section 493.6118(3), F.S.].
- Have demonstrated a lack of respect for the laws of this state and the nation [Section 493.6118(3), F.S.].
- Have an outstanding bench warrant or capias [Section 493.6118(3), F.S.].
- Are currently in a Pre-Trial Intervention or Deferred Prosecution Program [Section 493.6118(3), F.S.].

Emergency Vehicle Operators Course
This 16-clock hour class will prepare students to safely operate an emergency vehicle.
This certification is an employment requirement established by the Florida Department
of Health for anyone driving an ambulance and meets the requirements of the following
organizations; Florida Department of Health, Division of Emergency Preparedness and
Community Support, Bureau of Emergency Medical Oversight, and P站视频 EMT Program. For
this course, the 16-clock hours is split into two parts, an 8-clock hour online course
and an 8-clock hour in-person driving class. The online course will be email out 7-10
days before the class starts and will need to be completed, with a physical completion
certificate to be brought with, before the in-person driving class.
Trade & Industry Courses
The trades are one of the most in-demand career opportunities available. Through these courses, students will be able to gain and improve upon their trade industry skills to help further their careers.
One Position Steel Plate Test
This test can be done using any one of the following welding processes, SMAW (Stick)
GTAW (TIG), FCAW (Flux Cored), and GMAW (MIG). The process you choose will be done
on a groove weld with or without backing in the 1G (Flat), 2G (Horizontal), 3G (Vertical),
or 4G (Overhead) positions. By doing only one position you will be limited on the
positions for qualification. Each welding process tested qualifies you only for that
welding process. Price includes all material costs and AWS Registration fees.

4G (Overhead) positions on Stainless Steel plate or the 6G position for Pipe. When
doing a 3G position, the 4G position can be added at no extra cost. By doing both
the 3G and 4G positions you will be qualified to weld all positions on plate. A 6G
position Pipe test qualifies you to weld all positions of plate and pipe. Each welding
process tested qualifies you only for that process. Our available pipe materials are
2鈥 Sch 80 and 6鈥 Sch 80 Steel or Stainless steel. Stainless Steel Plate tests, and
all pipe tests are considered Specialty tests. Price includes all material costs and AWS Registration fees.
Marine Training Program
Prepare for a high-paying, high-demand career. This Pre-apprenticeship includes 10
evenings of hands-on training and two hands-on Saturday labs. With over a dozen boat
manufacturers and repair facilities such as Pursuit, Maverick, and Twin Vee, the Treasure
Coast is a booming epicenter for boat manufacturing and this industry is growing at
over 20% per year. Students will have an opportunity to work towards a Yamaha factory
certification. Topics covered will include theory and engine operation, maintenance
and light repairs, trailer adjustments and repair, as well as general knowledge and
skills. Twice a week experts from the industry will focus on topics such as rigging,
maintenance, and engine repairs.
Certified Logistic Associate (CLA)
This five-week classroom and online program will provide you with the foundational
knowledge needed to understand the business of supply chain and related skills. This
training includes lessons in the warehouse and shipping supply chain environment,
safety, safe equipment operation, material handling equipment, quality control, workplace
communication, teamwork and problem solving and using computers.
Forklift Operation Training
A mobile, power-propelled truck used to carry, push, pull, lift, stack, or tier materials.
(American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). Commonly known as forklifts, pallet
trucks, rider trucks, fork-trucks, or lift-trucks. Can be powered through electric
or combustion engines. Powered Trucks, or Forklifts, is a National OSHA Certification
mandatory for individuals operating forklifts and other similar materials moving equipment.
The Certification/License consists of two hours of classroom training concluding with
a short-written test, followed with a short field test on the specific equipment utilized
by the company. The program typically lasts between 4 -6 hours, depending on the number
of participants needing field testing. * Class includes Operator鈥檚 Certification (License)
good for 4 years.
OSHA 10Hrs.
This 10 Hour General Industry OSHA training course targets those working in a Supervisory
or Managerial position overseeing the safety and welfare of employees in their company
or department. The course is designed to teach managers and supervisors how to institute a consistent
Safety Program within their area of responsibility. In addition, the class identifies steps needed to develop an internal 鈥淗eads-up鈥 Culture
beneficial to the individual employee and the Company as a whole. *Each attendee will receive a Federal 10 Hour OSHA card upon completion of the course.
